ULTRAsomething > Orca breaches the surface in the Straight of Georgia near Vancouver, BC
ULTRAsomething > The Lions as shot from the Zodiac in the middle of Howe Sound. Because of my telephoto lens, there's no way to get a feel for just how high this peak is -- unless you consider that it's nearly June and that snow will still be there for at least another month.
ULTRAsomething > Looking upstream through a couple of the Othello Quintette tunnels.
ULTRAsomething > This is a series of five tunnels, called the Othello Quintette, that slice through the mountains near Hope, B.C.
ULTRAsomething > The tunnels are part of B.C.'s old Kettle Valley Railway.
ULTRAsomething > A classic example of why, if you want good eagle photos, a 70-200mm lens is not the ideal choice (yes, that's one on the stump). Fortunately, for me, watching bald eagles is just an "excuse" to get out and walk around this rugged and beautiful country.
ULTRAsomething > We awoke on Christmas Eve and were surprised to see the sun shining brightly. So we took a drive to Brackendale for some bald eagle watching where, indeed, we saw plenty. Unfortunately, I'm not lucky enough to possess a 600mm telephoto lens (essential bird photography gear) so, instead, I focused my 70-200mm lens on the surrounding landscape.
