ULTRAsomething > Near Pioneer Square in Seattle, WA
ULTRAsomething > We awoke on Christmas Eve and were surprised to see the sun shining brightly. So we took a drive to Brackendale for some bald eagle watching where, indeed, we saw plenty. Unfortunately, I'm not lucky enough to possess a 600mm telephoto lens (essential bird photography gear) so, instead, I focused my 70-200mm lens on the surrounding landscape.
ULTRAsomething > A classic example of why, if you want good eagle photos, a 70-200mm lens is not the ideal choice (yes, that's one on the stump). Fortunately, for me, watching bald eagles is just an "excuse" to get out and walk around this rugged and beautiful country.
ULTRAsomething > Burrard Street Bridge, shot with a 15mm fisheye lens from the north side of False Creek near sunset.
ULTRAsomething > Vanier Park, as seen from downtown Vancouver on an eerily still evening.
ULTRAsomething > Standing in one country looking at another. View of Mt. Baker (USA) taken from atop Mt. Seymour (Canada).
ULTRAsomething > One of the many hundreds of reasons why I love Vancouver -- Howe Sound is my "backyard." Eagle-eyed viewers may spot one of their bald kin sitting atop the highest rock...
ULTRAsomething > Another example of "view obfuscation," courtesy of Vancouver high rises
ULTRAsomething > Muse Research's Receptor
ULTRAsomething > Two of the many Springerle cookies that Karen made for a Valentine's Day fund raising effort to benefit the B.C. Lung Foundation
ULTRAsomething > A closer look at one of Karen's chocolate Springerle cookies -- made for a Valentine's Day fund raising effort to benefit the B.C. Lung Foundation.
